My family’s background in injection molding is at Seitz, now Aptyx, in Torrington, about twenty minutes from where I operate now. I started my own career as a solutions engineer in managed IT services, a technical, high-trust business with the same long cycles and the same skepticism of vendors as manufacturing.
After attending NPE2024 I started working with processors and machine shops on getting real ROI out of HubSpot, and I haven’t worked outside plastics since.
What grew my understanding about this industry was plant visits, and conversations with people who’ve been doing this for thirty years. I’ve developed a real appreciation for how much complexity and ingenuity goes into a part that ends up costing forty cents.
I’ve spent my whole career in CRM and business development, and I’ve watched sales and marketing tools come and go. What stays constant in this industry is the people. My clients are engineers and operators, and my job is making sure the good work they do gets seen.
